When people think of landscaping companies, they often picture a big crew of employees, trucks lined up, and an office full of managers behind desks. That is not us. At Halcyon Yard Solutions LLC, we are a small, family ran business with just three people, and we like it that way. Every blade of grass trimmed, every invoice sent, and every blog post written is handled by one of the owners of this company. Nothing is passed off, nothing is outsourced, and nothing happens here that we do not personally put our hands on.
🌱 Mike and Brody: The Hands in the Dirt
Most people know us by the work we do in their yards, so let us start there. Mike and Brody are the backbone of Halcyon. They are the ones loading up early in the morning, heading out six days a week, and putting in long twelve hour days to make sure lawns stay green, irrigation keeps flowing, and gardens thrive.
It is funny, because sometimes clients will see Mike pull up to a job and assume that as the owner he must have an army of workers doing the real heavy lifting while he spends most of his time at home. The truth could not be further from that. If you have scheduled weekly maintenance, it is either Mike or Brody showing up every single week. They are the ones mowing, trimming, edging, fixing leaks, diagnosing plant problems, and hauling green waste. When you hire Halcyon, you hire them.
📝 Katie: The Behind the Scenes Work
While Mike and Brody are sweating it out in the sun, my role is just as constant, even if it looks a little different. I am the one behind the blogs, the invoices, the scheduling, and the ordering. I reroute the guys in real time if there are traffic issues, accidents, or road closures so they can stay on track and keep appointments running smoothly. I also vet new clients for safety before sending Mike or Brody out for the first time, because keeping our family safe is just as important as caring for your yard.
There is no office staff in the background, no marketing department, no billing team. It is just me, working behind the scenes to keep things organized and to make sure our clients get the best service possible.
🌿 Communication Is Our Cornerstone
One of the things that sets Halcyon apart is how much we value communication, not only with our clients but between the three of us. Every single post, project, and decision is talked about as a team. Whether it is which fertilizer to use, how to handle a tricky irrigation issue, or what to post on social media, we bring it to the table and weigh it out together.
This becomes especially important when it comes to pest control. Clients sometimes request solutions that are toxic or harmful to pets, pollinators, and the surrounding environment. Instead of just saying yes and applying something harsh, we dig deep into research and work to find alternatives that are safer and more sustainable. We want to protect your family, your pets, and your yard without damaging the ecosystem. That takes time, effort, and a lot of discussion, but it is worth it because the health of your landscape and your loved ones will always be our priority.
💪 The Reality Behind the Work
Running a small business is not glamorous. It is long days in the sun, hauling equipment, dealing with broken irrigation lines, racing daylight to finish jobs, and juggling paperwork late into the evening. It is pushing through exhaustion because someone’s yard depends on it. It is Mike and Brody giving up their Saturdays to make sure your lawn looks perfect by Sunday.
But it is also deeply rewarding. There is pride in driving past a home and knowing we are the reason it looks so inviting. There is joy in seeing flowers bloom, lawns thrive, and irrigation problems solved before they turn into disasters. And there is gratitude in knowing that clients choose us, a small family team, when they could just as easily call a large franchise.
✨ From Our Family to Yours
Halcyon Yard Solutions LLC is not just our business, it is our way of life. Every project we take on is personal. Every yard we maintain is treated like our own. Every blog post, bill, and service is carried out by the three of us, working together as a family.
So when you see Mike or Brody out in your yard, know that you are looking at the owners of the company. And when you read this blog or open your invoice, know that I wrote it myself. There is no hidden team behind the scenes. It is just us, and we would not have it any other way.
From our family to yours, thank you for trusting us with your outdoor spaces. We are honored to serve our community, one yard at a time.
